CITI training is accessed at citiprogram.org and you can use your UT NetID and password to log in. Step-by-step instructions for registering for and completing the required CITI training can be found here.

Transferring CITI Credit from Previous Institutions

Individuals who previously completed CITI training at another institution may follow the instructions below to transfer CITI credits from their previous institution to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Additional modules that are specific to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville may need to be completed after the transfer is complete. Step-by-step instructions for transferring CITI courses from previous institutions can be found in the video link above.

External Research Collaborators

If there are individuals who are not affiliated with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville engaged in your research project, please attach the CITI completion report from their institution to your IRB application in iMedRIS. The completion report should list all modules and courses completed in CITI, so that the HRPP office can confirm that this training is comparable to our required training. If the training is not comparable, the external researcher may be asked to complete additional CITI training.

If external researchers who are engaged in your research project have not previously completed CITI training, they can affiliate with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville on the CITI website and take our required training.
