The Human Resources Protection Program (HRPP) consists of individuals, departments, and committees with responsibilities for human research protections. The objective of this system is to assist the University in meeting ethical principles and regulatory requirements for the protection of human subjects in research. The following officials, administrative units and individuals have primary responsibilities for human subject protections:

The mission of the HRPP is to:
- Safeguard and promote the health and welfare of human research subjects by ensuring that their rights, safety and well-being are protected
- Provide guidance and support to the research community in the conduct of research with human subjects
- Assist the research community in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Provide timely and high-quality education, review, and oversight of human research projects
- Facilitate excellence in the conduct of human subjects research.
Our office conducts exempt and expedited reviews of research across campus and provides educational support to researchers. Additionally, we provide support to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and work with closely with other institutional IRBs to ensure compliance for collaborative research projects.
