UT is leading a transformative coalition focused on mobility and funded by the NSF’s Regional Innovation Engines program. TEAM TN, the first initiative of its kind in Tennessee, is focused on inventing and commercializing new transportation systems and technologies.
The new multi-institutional University Transportation Center will unite researchers from across the country to develop innovative technologies and solutions in the freight transportation system and national and global supply chains.
UT is one of six universities to collaborate with AT&T, and this state-of-the-art testbed will host research that supports solutions for telemedicine, transportation, precision agriculture, and other fields.
UT and Volkswagen celebrated the third anniversary of Volkswagen’s first North American Innovation Hub, located at the UT Research Park at Cherokee Farm. Home to leading-edge automotive research, the hub is a success due in part to its place-based innovation and its ability to retain up-and-coming talent like Marton Kardos, a student turned research scientist.
