UT Hosts, Wins Back-to-Back SEC Machining Competitions

A team of UT students won first place at the second annual SEC Machining Competition. They competed against teams from other SEC universities to create a component of an oscillating piston air engine, demonstrating their expertise operating advanced manufacturing machines.

UT has received a prestigious Materials Research Science and Engineering Center from the National Science Foundation to develop sophisticated artificial intelligence and computational tools and deploy them in the design and synthesis of next-generation materials in two areas: quantum materials and materials for extreme environments.
