UT and the UT Medical Center Pursue Scientific Breakthroughs, Community Impact in Center for Precision Health

The Center for Precision Health includes the Medical Device Innovation Core and the Spark BioHub, and other units. It houses UT faculty, UT Medical Center physicians, and community partners to facilitate transdisciplinary collaboration that will improve lives.

Volkswagen opened its first North American innovation hub at the UT Research Park at Cherokee Farm in 2020. UT faculty and students collaborate with Volkswagen scientists on technology to make vehicles lighter, batteries last longer, and materials more sustainable.

Innovation South Facility Opens

Innovation South, which opened in 2024, is an 85,000-square-foot multiuse facility that includes a high bay and laboratory space for UT faculty, students, and industry collaborators to conceptualize, prototype, and test sustainable composite materials.
