The middle of February brings additional recognition and awards for UT faculty and alums: Chemistry professor wins Outstanding Junior Faculty Award; UTIA professor earns Lifetime Achievement Award; UTIA professor receives Emerging Scholar Award.


Vogiatzis Wins OpenEye Outstanding Junior Faculty Award

Kostas Vogiatzis, assistant professor with the Department of Chemistry, is one of the recipients of the American Chemical Society, Computers in Chemistry Division (ACS COMP) OpenEye Outstanding Junior Faculty Award for Spring 2021. This competitive and prestigious award identifies junior faculty of promise in the area of computational chemistry and modeling.


UTIA Professor Earns SAEA Lifetime Achievement Award

Burton C. English, professor at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture (UTIA), has received the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Southern Agricultural Economics Association (SAEA). The award is given in recognition of his significant and enduring contributions to the agricultural economics profession.


UTIA Professor Receives SAEA Emerging Scholar Award

Karen DeLong, associate professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture (UTIA), was recently presented with the Emerging Scholar Award by the Southern Agricultural Economics Association (SAEA). The award is presented to high-performing, early-career professionals with demonstrated research and resulting publication activity.
