The Faculty Development Team exists to cultivate the skills and provide the visibility every faculty member at UT, Knoxville needs to advance their respective scholarship, research, and creative activities.

Proposal Development Support
The FDT supports investigator-initiated proposals, faculty awards, and fellowships with an emphasis on early career opportunities. From opportunity identification to proposal submission and everything in between, our proposal development strategists work closely with you across the proposal development continuum to present your research in a compelling way to increases proposal competitiveness.

The FDT conducts a variety of workshops on proposal writing and finding funding. The workshop schedule includes sessions on general proposal writing skills and writing to meet the specific requirements of the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, National Endowment for the Humanities, and federal mission agencies. Our staff can also provide workshops to departments, centers, or institutes on request.
