The Office of Research & Engagement would like to encourage submissions to the National Institutes of Health Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) Program (R15). This is a special pool of funding available to institutions that have not received more than $6 million per year in NIH support in four of the last seven years. ORE would like to invite potential applicants to attend a webinar presented by the NIH Center for Scientific Review entitled “Meet the Experts in NIH Peer Review for AREA/R15 Award Applicants,” which will teach applicants how to navigate the NIH peer review system and submit a strong R15 application.
The webinar will be followed by a Q&A session with Dr. Janet Nelson, ORE’s Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Development, who will share her experience from nearly 8 years at the NIH Center for Scientific Review, where she ran many Study Sections and was deeply involved in the NIH referral and review process. The Q&A session will also include representation from ORE’s Faculty and Research Development Teams and the Office of Sponsored Programs.
Register by January 2nd to ensure sufficient space available to accommodate all attendees. For more workshop offerings, please visit tiny.utk.edu/oreworkshops.
