Two faculty members and a senior administrator attended the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Open House on December 9-10 at the ARL main facility in Adelphi, MD.
With some travel support from the Office of Research and Engagement, assistant professors Vasilis Maroulas (Mathematics) and Tim Truster (Civil & Environmental Engineering), along with Janet Nelson, associate vice chancellor for research development, participated in the event which presented ARL’s new Open Campus initiative. The objective of this initiative is to foster more collaborative research by providing academia and industry with access to ARL facilities and researchers. Open Campus will thus enable faculty to engage on research projects at ARL locations, and ARL researchers may similarly conduct research on the UT, Knoxville campus.
