The NSF CAREER Proposal Writing Institute is designed to support faculty who plan on submitting a CAREER proposal in 2021. Topics include the education plan, broader impacts, crafting a persuasive narrative, discussion of funded proposals, and a panel with past awardees. Faculty will be encouraged to set writing goals and to use the PWI as a group resource through the proposal development process.
Register Now for Summer 2017 NIH Proposal Writing Institute
Registration is now open for the Summer 2017 NIH Proposal Writing Institute (PWI). The NIH PWI combines a series of workshops with a sequence of writing assignments and individualized proposal development support by the Faculty Development Team (FDT). The goal is for each participant to have a complete draft proposal by the end of the PWI.
Topics will include things like how to select the right R-mechanism for your proposal, how to identify an appropriate study section, the structure of an NIH proposal, budgeting, identifying and conveying the health impact of your research, and complying with the rigor and reproducibility requirements.

2016 Proposal Writing Institute Offers Special Emphasis Tracks
Registration for the 2016 Proposal Writing Institute (PWI) is now open. The PWI is an intensive proposal development program offered to faculty members across the UT campus by the Faculty Development Team in the Office of Research and Engagement.
This year, in addition to the “traditional” PWI track, we are offering two “special emphasis” tracks for those faculty members who intend to submit either an NSF CAREER or NIH R01 proposal in the next ten months. (Please note that the time frame and registration deadline are different for each track.)
