New Perspectives on Research and Scholar-Activism,” on April 5, from 10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Howard Baker Center. The symposium will feature scholarship by UT faculty and students and a panel discussion on how to improve the campus racial climate. Dr. Crystal Marie Fleming, Associate Professor of Sociology and Africana Studies and Associate Faculty in the Department of Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies at SUNY Stony Brook will present the keynote address based on themes from her recent best-belling book, How to Be Less Stupid About Race: On Racism, White Supremacy and the Racial Divide.
