Eck Elected Chair of Southeast Region’s NORDP
Kimberly Eck, director of research development in the Office of Research and Engagement, was elected Chair of the Southeast Region’s National Organization of Research Development Professions (SE NORDP) Executive Committee. Eck is leading SE NORDP in creating its founding documents and policies so that it can be officially recognized by the national NORDP organization. SE NORDP will be a valuable regional network that supports professional development and faculty collaboration.
Benson, Graves, Lee Receive CRA Designation
The Office of Research and Engagement’s Jennifer Benson & Allyson Graves, Sponsored Programs Administrators, and Lisa Lee, IACMI Contract Manager, are the newest recipients of the Certified Research Administrator designation. The designation of Certified Research Administrator (CRA) means that an individual has met the requirements of the Research Administrators Certification Council‘s eligibility requirements and has demonstrated a level of knowledge necessary for a person to be a professional research or sponsored programs administrator.
Penn Awarded 2017 NCURA Travel Award
Marie Penn from the Office of Sponsored Programs was awarded the 2017 National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) Travel Award. The Southeast Region of NCURA issues an annual $1,000 Travel Award to support a member to attend the region’s annual conference. These awards are issued through a competitive application process and awardees are selected based on service and contribution to the organization and professional development/institutional financial need.
