The National Science Foundation is modifying target dates for its Catalyzing New International Collaborations (CNIC) program as the CNIC transitions from an open proposal schedule to a fixed-date quarterly schedule.
Awards under CNIC fund short international planning visits or small workshops by U.S.-based researchers that are expected to result in submission of full research proposals to the NSF.
The previous CNIC solicitation (12-573) provided for any-time submissions. The current solicitation (13-605) sets four target dates beginning in 2014, with the first on January 22. However, as part of the transition to the new schedule, the review process for proposals received by October 31, 2013, will start before the January date.
