- The UT Legal Clinic began its 70th year with the swearing in of new student attorneys.
- Susanne S. Masters, a 1989 graduate of the School of Advertising and Public Relations, has established the DeForrest Jackson Endowed Professorship with a gift of $500,000.
- Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek received a Legacy Award for Excellence through Leadership from Tarleton State University, his alma mater.
- A study entitled “Creating a Transparent Supply Chain” from UT’s Global Supply Chain Institute outlined six key practices for leveraging transparency in supply chains for financial profit. It is the third installment in the “Innovations in Supply Chain” series from UT’s Haslam College of Business supply chain faculty.
- Katie Lenger, a graduate research assistant in the Department of Psychology, is leading an initiative that focuses on a home-based mindfulness intervention aimed at helping low-income couples build healthier and stronger relationships. She is working with Kristina, Gordon, professor of psychology. The two-year project is funded by a $15,000 grant from the Mind and Life Institute.
- A project entitled “Demonstration and Implementation of Autonomous Aerial Acoustic Recording Systems to Inventory DOD Installation Impact Areas for Threatened, Endangered, and Species at Risk Bird Populations“, an effort by a team of University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture researchers, has been named the DOD’s Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) Project of the Year for 2016 for resource conservation and resiliency.
