- Peetri Chandrachud, fifth-year graduate student in the Department of Chemistry and amateur painter, has designed the cover art for a recent issue of the journal Organometallics, in which her paper Synthesis of Fully Aliphatic Aziridines with a Macrocyclic Tetracarbene Iron Catalyst is published and was designated for the cover.
- Students from both the College of Law and the College of Engineering worked together this summer as interns at the University of Tennessee Research Foundation technology transfer internship program.
- The Clarence Brown Theatre and Grist literary magazine have received grants from the Arts and Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville as part of their annual Arts Build Communities grant program.
- Marleen Kay Davis and Thomas K. Davis, both of the College of Architecture and Design, received one of the highest honors that the American Institutes of Architects bestows. They were named co-recipients of the Samuel Morgan Lifetime Service Award for Contribution to Architecture in the Public Realm by the Tennessee chapter. The award recognizes architects who have consistently fostered quality in the public built environment. Both Marleen and Thomas are AIA Fellows.
