Biography

Theresa Sears became assistant director in the Office of Sponsored Programs in 2010, where she supervises contract management and award administration for the office. She provides critical information, assistance, and advice to faculty, researchers and staff with proposal submission and award administration. She performs contract management review, negotiation, and processing on complex contracts, including master agreements and consortium membership agreements, as well as other research related agreements, such as material transfer and non-disclosure agreements. She also reviews award agreements and documents to ensure that they adhere to UT mission and policies, state and federal laws and regulations, and funding agency policies. Sears provides information on cost principles, uniform guidance, audit requirements for educational institutions, and fiscal management of grants and contracts.
