Morris To Serve as Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Administration

Sally Morris, executive director of corporate and foundation engagement at the Office of Advancement, has agreed to serve as interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Administration effective May 1, 2023.

Morris has worked in corporate and foundation relations for over 15 years and in higher education for over 20 years after serving as an attorney. During her time with UT, she has developed many relationships with prestigious foundations on behalf of the university and has worked extensively to promote and assist faculty and staff with corporate and foundation awards.

In her interim role, Morris will lead the Division of Research Administration (DRA) and will be responsible for guiding the teams who support pre- and post-award administration of the university’s sponsored projects and programs. DRA provides the highest quality of customer service to faculty, staff, students, and other research administrators by facilitating proposal preparation and submission to sponsors, reviewing, negotiating, and accepting awards, managing award actions, providing support for post-award financial administration, and ensuring proposal and award compliance with the policies and regulations of UT and its sponsors. Morris will also oversee the sponsored programs-related training that DRA provides to the UT community.
