Join us on Thursday, May 4 from 2-3 p.m. for a workshop on the NEH Public Scholars Program.
The workshop will feature presentations by Scot Danforth, the director of the University of Tennessee Press, and Alan Rutenberg, humanities fellowship advisor in ORIED. They will discuss how the application for the program differs from the standard NEH fellowship, and how applicants can imagine a project that appeals to prospective publishers and a broader audience.
The NEH Public Scholars program offers grants to individual authors for activities leading to well-researched nonfiction books in the humanities written and published for the broad public. The program encourages academic writers in the humanities to communicate the significance of their research to the broadest possible range of readers.
