Dayakar Penumadu
Dayakar Penumadu, Fred N. Peebles Professor and IAMM Chair of Excellence at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, was interviewed Nov. 11 on The Hallerin Hilton Hill Show on News Talk 98.7, WOKI-FM in Knoxville. The interview is part of a series Hill is producing with a focus on the impactful research being conducted at UT and the faculty members behind that work.
Penumadu is an expert in the use of advanced materials, in particular in areas where such materials form a joint. In the interview, he discusses projects such as those improving Volkswagen automobiles and rural Tennessee bridges. Penumadu also mentions the UT-led initiative IACMI—The Composites Institute, which is driving innovation in advanced composites through networking, collaboration, and workforce development.
