Export control is a series of federal regulations that determine how, where, and with whom knowledge, services, technology, and physical items can be shared. Adherence to export control regulations is critical, and the consequences for noncompliance include substantial fines of up to $1 million per violation for the university or up to $250,000 and a prison sentence per violation for an individual.
The University of Tennessee is committed to upholding this regulatory requirement and has export control officers at all campuses for assistance. Visit exportcontrol.utk.edu to read UT’s Statement of Commitment and learn more about export control regulations.
