StART Program Accepting Applications

apply for StART funding

The Science Alliance has announced a call for proposals for an internal funding opportunity. Support for Affiliated Research Teams (StART) was established to further build on Science Alliance’s strong history of fostering collaboration between UT and ORNL researchers.

The program has a single call with semiannual deadlines, the first of which is May 3, 2021. InfoReady will open for submissions on Monday, March 22, 2021. Each research team must include a principal investigator from both UT and ORNL, and all UT faculty members are eligible to apply, including those with previous ORNL collaborations or existing joint appointments.

Typical awards are $100 thousand. Projects will be funded for one year with the possibility of second year funding, pending an additional evaluation. StART will utilize the university’s new internal submission software, InfoReady.
