Natchez Trace Bridge Heroes Named the Tennessean’s People of the Year of 2019

The Tennessean recognized the advocates, survivors, lawmakers, and law enforcement officials who are working to make the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge safer as its People of the Year of 2019.

The newspaper identified the group as the Natchez Trace Bridge Heroes and listed Jenny Retherford, CEE senior lecturer, as one of the heroes.

Four UT Students Awarded Gilman International Scholarship to Study Abroad

Four UT students are among more than 1,400 American undergraduate students from 427 colleges and universities across the country selected to receive the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship.

The congressionally funded scholarship aims to broaden the US student population studying and interning abroad by providing scholarships to outstanding Pell Grant recipients who might not otherwise have the opportunity to study aboard.
