Natchez Trace Bridge Heroes Named the Tennessean’s People of the Year of 2019
The Tennessean recognized the advocates, survivors, lawmakers, and law enforcement officials who are working to make the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge safer as its People of the Year of 2019.
The newspaper identified the group as the Natchez Trace Bridge Heroes and listed Jenny Retherford, CEE senior lecturer, as one of the heroes.
Four UT Students Awarded Gilman International Scholarship to Study Abroad
Four UT students are among more than 1,400 American undergraduate students from 427 colleges and universities across the country selected to receive the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship.
The congressionally funded scholarship aims to broaden the US student population studying and interning abroad by providing scholarships to outstanding Pell Grant recipients who might not otherwise have the opportunity to study aboard.
DeKay Named Guest Co-editor of Sustainability Journal
Professor Mark DeKay has been named a guest co-editor of a special issue of Sustainability, an international open-source, research-focused journal. DeKay will share the editing role with Prof. Rob Fleming, Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Focused on “Integral Approaches to Sustainable Design Research and Practice,” the special issue will feature peer-reviewed articles that express broad approaches to research and will cover topics such as integral sustainable design, integral theory and multi-perspective research approaches to enhance understanding of sustainability.
UT Supply Chain Faculty Named Among World’s Top Researchers
Supply chain management faculty at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Haslam College of Business are among the world’s best researchers in the field. Six past and present faculty were recognized by Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, for the quality, quantity and scope of their scholarship.
The peer-reviewed paper, “Supply Chain Research Leadership: The Ranked Agents and Their Networks,” considers researchers from around the globe, examining their publication records and leadership roles in the field.
