Haslam Students Raise Over $17,000 for Clean Drinking Water
Procter & Gamble recently honored a group of Haslam of Business students for making an outsized impact on citizens’ lives in developing countries. The students organized and executed a walkathon on campus to raise more than $17,000 for Hands Across the Water, a clean water initiative. Hands Across the Water distributes water purification packets produced by Procter & Gamble that contain a powder to both disinfect and separate sediment from water.
Richard Hermes and Grist Win Parnassus Award
Richard Hermes and Grist: A Journal of the Literary Arts, the graduate student-run literary journal of the University of Tennessee, received the Parnassus Award for Significant Editorial Achievement from the Council of Editors of Learned Journals (CELJ) for Grist‘s 10th anniversary issue released in spring 2017.

Dana Potter, Ashlee Mays To Attend Leadership Summit
Two graduate students in printmaking, Dana Potter and Ashlee Mays, are attending the Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit in Chattanooga, using grant funds awarded by the Tennessee Arts Commission. With the help of School of Art director David Wilson, Potter and Mays applied for the grant earlier this spring.
