ORE Creates NIH Research Community Forum

The Office of Research and Engagement has announced a new opportunity for faculty, staff, and students interested in health-related research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The UT NIH Research Community listserv (NIH@listserv.utk.edu) is a new forum to share NIH news and announcements, to learn about funding opportunities, workshops, and speakers, to connect with potential collaborators across campus and beyond, and to crowdsource questions related to all aspects of the NIH grant process—from proposal development to the application and review process to post-award management. This is intended to be deeper than a one-way flow of information from ORE; we chose the word Community because our goal is to encourage, engage, and educate not only our researchers, but also those who are working together across campus at all levels to enable their success.

The Community will be managed by Jennifer Webster (865-974-2044 or jwebster@utk.edu), who will serve as the new Research Development Team liaison for NIH opportunities. We invite all interested parties to contact her to be added to the Community, and to discuss your NIH research interests, needs, concerns, and aspirations.
