NSF partners with UK research councils

The National Science Foundation and the Research Councils U.K. have announced a new two-way, lead-agency agreement that facilitates the process for researchers applying for collaborative United States/United Kingdom research funding. The agreement allows joint proposals to be submitted either to the NSF or the RCUK, depending on which country hosts the greatest portion of the research. The reviews will then be handled through that agency’s proposal processing routes.

The program is being launched within the NSF’s Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences Directorate, in partnership with the RCUK’s Economic and Social Research Council, the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.
