By providing researchers with the ability to set a broad range of temperature and magnetic field conditions, EMP enables critical and cutting-edge fundamental materials science research that is both cost effective and efficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EMP may be accessed both by UT researchers and external partners and clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Staff<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p><strong>Jian Liu<\/strong><br>Scientific Leader<br><a href=\"mailto:nmannell@utk.edu\">jianliu@utk.edu<\/a><br>865-974-3055<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-block-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Instruments<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>PPMS for routine electrical measurements such as resistivity, capacitance, and Hall effect, down to 1.8 K and up to 9 T.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dynacool system for routine measurements of resistivity, Hall effect, magnetization, susceptibility, heat capacity, thermopower, and thermal conductivity down to 1.8 K and up to 14 T.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SQUID-VSM Magnetometer System (SVSM) for routine magnetization and susceptibility measurements down to 2 K and up to 7 T.
