Research Cores

Development, testing, and characterization of advanced materials and manufacturing solutions requires specialized facilities and tools. IAMM is equipped with an extensive collection of leading-edge technologies and capabilities. Seven UT Core Facility laboratories are housed at IAMM HQ on the UT Cherokee Farm campus and can be accessed both by IAMM researchers and external partners and clients.

In 2022 and 2023, the institute will add two new mixed-use facilities to house our partnership-powered Manufacturing Innovation Initiative, MI2.

Individuals or groups who wish to tour any of our Core Facility laboratories should contact to schedule and learn about any safety requirements.

Most IAMM Core Facilities use Stratocore to manage scheduling and billing. This system allows any UT faculty, staff, or student to securely log in using their UT NetID credentials; search for and reserve equipment and services; and pay for services once work has been completed. Please contact Melanie Murphy to set up a new Stratocore account or with any questions related to Stratocore.
