The Federal, Corporate, and Foundation Opportunity Fund is administered by the Office of Research and Engagement Research Development Team and are approved on a case-by-case basis.
These funds are used to develop future funding opportunities. Support may also be provided to host representatives of funding agencies during an on-campus activity. The funds are awarded to UT Knoxville faculty only.
50% of usual expenses will be reimbursed after the activity, and submission of an after-action report, the details of which are defined in the application review process. A meeting with the Research Development Team to discuss the report may also be required.
There is no formal application deadline for these funds
How to Apply
Faculty may apply anytime during the year. Guidelines for submitting a request are:
- Provide a detailed description of the event including the benefit to the university
- Include estimated expenses
- Submit the request electronically to Paul Montgomery at firstname.lastname@example.org for approval.
If a request is approved for funding, an after-action report about the completed activity shall be submitted and, a meeting with the Research Development Team to discuss the report may also be required. Funds will then be transferred to the appropriate departmental account.
