Supplemental Funding for In-Residence Fellowship Awards

The Office of Research and Engagement provides supplemental funding for UT tenured and tenure-track faculty members who receive competitive fellowship awards that require residence at an academic research center, library, or university.

This supplemental funding covers housing costs in the city of the residential research institution, and limited travel costs to and from Knoxville. The amount of the supplemental award varies according to individual circumstances.

Faculty members have previously received funding to supplement fellowships at the National Humanities Center, Research Triangle, North Carolina; the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Cambridge, Massachusetts; the American Philosophical Society, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin.

How to Apply

The Associate Vice Chancellor of Research Development will review applications as they are received.
Applications must include

  • Documentation of the fellowship award
  • Detailed documentation of projected housing and travel costs
  • The total amount requested. There is no set limit for this amount.
