Opportunities Fund

Program Objective

The Opportunities Fund is administered by the Office of Research and Engagement; monies are distributed to both active and/or beginning researchers.

The funds are primarily reserved for very strategic high-level institutional investments.  The funds are awarded to support full-time, tenure-track faculty only.

Submission Process

Requests should include a detailed description of the research activity to be supported, including the benefit to the university; details regarding the sources and amounts of matching funds, and confirmation of support by the department head and dean’s office.

There is no formal application deadline for these funds.  Funds are, however, distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited, so applications should be made as early in the fiscal year as possible.  Allocations can also be approved for spending in the following year. Applications can be submitted here: Opportunities Fund.

Award Terms

Funding is based on actual expenses up to the amount approved. Requests that do not result in actual expenses are not carried over into the subsequent fiscal year unless prior approved.
