Center for Engaged Scholarship Dissertation Fellowship Provides a stipend for one academic year for ABD social science students pursuing research that has potential to contribute to progressive change.

National Academy of Education National Academy of Education/Spencer Dissertation Fellowship Program Funds Ph.D. students from a wide range of disciplines whose work contributes to the history, theory, or practice of formal or informal education anywhere in the world.
National Institute of Justice NIJ Graduate Research Fellowship Program Funding for Ph.D. candidates conducting research on crime, violence, and other criminal justice-related topics.
National Science Foundation NSF Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grants Provides funding for programs in the Directorate for Social, Behavioral & Economic Sciences.
National Science Foundation NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program Provides three years of support to graduate students who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees in fields within NSF’s mission. Applicants must have completed no more than 12 months of full-time graduate study.
National Science Foundation NSF East Asia & Pacific Summer Institutes Provides research experience and the opportunity to develop collaborative partnerships in Australia, China, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, or Taiwan.
