East Tennessee Delegation Attends White House Forum in DC

Representatives from the University of Tennessee (UT), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) and other East Tennessee organizations gathered in Washington, DC Tuesday for the “White House Forum on Connecting Regional Innovation Ecosystems to Federal and National Labs.”

UT President Joe DiPietro, Taylor Eighmy, vice chancellor for research and engagement, and Suresh Babu, UT-ORNL Governor’s Chair for Advanced Manufacturing, attended the forum which was hosted by the White House National Economic Council, Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Office of Management and Budget. Also in the Tennessee delegation were Thom Mason, director of ORNL, Craig Blue, CEO of the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI), and Beth Phillips and Dwaine Raper of UT’s Center for Industrial Services.
