Seed Funding Catalyzes Research
The Office of Research and Engagement has launched the 2020 Research Seed Program. The program serves as a catalyst for faculty research at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; UT Institute of Agriculture; and UT Space Institute. The funding will go toward generating proposal submissions around a variety of initiatives. The goal is to encourage faculty members to identify and seek new funding targets. Continue reading
Registration Open for Fall Responsible Conduct of Research Workshop
The Office of Research and Engagement (ORE) is hosting a Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) awareness workshop on September 27, 2019, in the Student Union Ballroom (272 A&B) from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. This workshop will address topics that are central to successful research programs. It will also examine the newest policy updates, expectations, and resources for information security and human subjects research.
Annual Call for Proposals: SARIF Equipment and Infrastructure Fund
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville Office of Research and Engagement (ORE) has opened applications for the FY20 Scholarly Activity and Research Incentive Fund (SARIF) Equipment and Infrastructure Fund. This award aims to enhance UT’s research mission by providing support for the acquisition of state-of-the-art or innovative equipment that will advance the research mission of the university or for the repair, replacement, or upgrade of critical research infrastructure.
Proposals must be submitted online using the InfoReady system no later than Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at noon.

Apply for ORAU-Directed Research and Development Grants
As a member institution of Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU), UT faculty have access to apply for ORAU-Directed Research and Development (ODRD) Grants, a research and development program that supports collaborations between ORAU and member universities.
An ODRD research concept may be initiated by ORAU staff or a member university faculty or staff member. The proposed research concepts must align with at least one of ORAU’s core capability areas and focus on improving service to an ORAU customer. Complete details can be found on the ODRD solicitation page.
Interested faculty must submit applications for this opportunity by September 9 and February 1 of each year. Proposals will be internally reviewed and the top proposals will be recommended for submission to ORAU.
