The Research Development unit in the Office of Research & Engagement would like to invite you to a meeting for all AAAS fellows on our campus. The meeting will be held on April 10 at 10 am in the Student Union, Room 362. Light refreshments will be served.
The general purpose of the meeting is to discuss how our AAAS fellows might develop some institutional programs and initiatives as a cohort. We seek your thoughts and advice about new programs here as well as your knowledge about programs at other universities that we might adopt.
In particular, we would like to propose a new program in which we will ask AAAS fellows to serve in the limited role of application mentors for UT junior faculty who apply for highly prestigious external awards. The list of junior faculty awards we propose to consider comes from the Center for Measuring University Performance:
Beckman Young Investigator Awards: http://www.beckman-foundation.com/byi.html
Burroughs-Wellcome Fund Career Awards: http://www.bwfund.org/programs/interfaces/career_grant_recipients.html
