The Department of Finance is part of the College of Business Administration. The mission of the Finance Department is to provide innovative leadership in financial education, research, and practice, create a learning environment where students and faculty acquire and disseminate knowledge and grow professionally, and identify and answer important financial questions that impact the business community. The finance major gives students the flexibility to tailor programs to prepare for careers in many areas, including commercial and investment banking, real estate, or financial analysis. The research interests of each faculty member can be found on their individual webpage within the online departmental directory.

The Masters Investment Learning Center

The Masters Investment Learning Center (Masters ILC) provides the college with a facility offering real-world market investment experiences through venues such as Bloomberg terminals. The mission of the Masters ILC is to promote and facilitate business education and research through experiential learning. We strive to provide educational opportunities and enrichment activities for our students, faculty, and professional community. Recognizing that corporate outreach is an extremely valuable part of business education, the Masters ILC increases interaction between students, faculty, and the business community. These activities include Bloomberg Acknowledgment Training and Research, the CFA Global Investment Research Challenge, the CME Commodities Challenge, Torch Funds, and the UT Investment Group.
