Few disciplines are more relevant to our everyday lives than economics. Economists examine how businesses, individuals and nations behave, how they interact, and how they compete. Economics provides the framework for strategic thinking and the tools for effective decision-making. The tools of economics apply to a wide range of areas: business management, public policy and personal decision-making. Our students use their study of economics as the foundation for careers in business, law, research, and government, serving in both the public and private sector. Affiliated centers and research units include the Center for Business and Economic Research, the Behavioral Economics Research Group, and the Howard H. Baker Center for Public Policy.
