The Office of Research & Engagement is committed to growing UT’s research enterprise by offering assistance at every stage of the funding proposal process. Grant writing can often be a tedious and daunting task, but our staff is here to provide the support you need to identify opportunities and generate winning proposals.

Grantseeker’s Toolkit — Exclusive resources and information frequently needed by members of the Knoxville campus research community when seeking funding opportunities.

Faculty Development Team — Experienced advisors dedicated to increasing the number of major awards won by UT faculty by identifying strategic funding opportunities and conducting grant writing workshops.

Research Development Team — Helps faculty form competitive research teams and collaborations to identify and pursue large strategic opportunities.

Office of Sponsored Programs — Supports faculty, staff and research administrators by facilitating proposal processing and submission; reviewing, negotiating and accepting contracts; and managing awards.

Office of Community Engagement & Outreach — Resources to assist faculty, staff, and students seeking funding for outreach & engagement projects and programs.

Corporate & Foundation Relations — Connects and fosters faculty relationships with private foundations and corporations by matching faculty expertise to private foundation interests and potential corporate partners.

Federal Relations — Matches faculty research capabilities with federal agency needs and increases awareness of federal opportunities by developing relationships with federal program officials.
