Proposal Development
Welcome to the Proposal Development website, which provides resources to increase your chance for a successful grant proposal submission. The Office of Research at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, built a foundation of three primary services to support research-active faculty.
Faculty Development
A range of resources has been compiled to facilitate and grow faculty members’ skills in the grant proposal process. These include workshops and reference materials, and visitors to this site are encouraged to visit regularly because new workshops and other resources are constantly being added. In addition, this web site provides useful links to funding agencies and to listservs that distribute funding opportunities to faculty on an ongoing basis.
Proposal Preparation
A team of editors, project administrators, and representatives from the Office of Research Sponsored Programs Department stand ready to assist Principal Investigators as they prepare proposal documents. To assist faculty members, this web site offers descriptions of campus capabilities, facilities/equipment, and humanities support along with easy-to-access forms and examples of commonly requested information.
Limited Submissions
Some funding agencies limit the number of applications that can be presented by a single institution. To accommodate these grant proposals, the Office of Research coordinates internal competitions. To maximize chances of success, this process is carefully coordinated to create early notification of opportunities.
