Chancellor's Awards in Research and Creative Achievement
Each year, the UT Knoxville Office of Research solicits nominations for the Chancellor's Awards in Research and Creative Achievement. The four recipients of these awards will be presented a certificate of achievement and a $3,000 monetary award at the Chancellor’s Honors Banquet. The Awards Committee of the Research Council will screen all nominations and make recommendations to Dr. Greg Reed.
The purpose of these awards is to recognize tenured faculty members who have received national and/or international recognition in their field, to stimulate research and creative achievement, and to emphasize that faculty research and creative achievement are integral to the mission of the tenured faculty members who by the end of 2009-2010 have more than 10 years of professional experience beyond their terminal degree. You are encouraged to resubmit names of candidates who were not previously selected. Recipients of the award during the period of spring 1997 through 2009 are ineligible for this year's competition. Click here for a list of previous award recipients. Distinguished Scientists and Chairs of Excellence are ineligible for these awards because of the recognition and support afforded them through these positions.
Each small UT academic department or budgetary unit at Knoxville may submit the name and credentials of one nominee to the Awards Committee. Larger departments (20 or more faculty members) may submit two nominations. The nominations must include the cover sheet and supporting documentation describing the nominee’s accomplishments and relationship and significance to his or her field for the past ten years.
