Target Audience: Faculty

Eligibility: All faculty eligible to serve as the principal investigator on an NSF proposal submitted though the UT Knoxville Office of Sponsored Programs may participate.

The NSF Proposal Writing Institute (PWI) is designed to provide support and structure for faculty planning on submitting a proposal to NSF. The NSF PWI combines a series of presentations on preparing a competitive proposal, writing assignments that break up the proposal into sections, and opportunities for faculty to share writing strategies.  Topics will include types of funding opportunities, communicating with program officers, the review process, the structure of an NSF proposal, budgeting, and broader impacts.

The PWI will consist of seven sessions held from 9:00am-11am on the dates below.

  • November 29
  • December 6
