Frequently Used Tools:

Coeus Training

The UT Knoxville Office of Research offers a variety of training options for using the Coeus electronic research administration software. Training is available through this website, Online@UT (Blackboard), and in small-group classroom sessions. Users may choose which type of training is best suited to their individual or departmental needs. A combination of modalities is suggested for business managers and others who use multiple Coeus modules. To request training, contact Lesli Rowan, Coeus Administrator, at coeushelp@utk.edu or (865) 974-9310.

Please note: The Coeus Java application (Premium or Lite) is used for data entry for proposals and awards. To generate reports, use Coeus Portal Reports. Although the reports use Coeus data, they are a separate application.

Coeus and Coeus "Lite" are completely web-based and may be accessed from any computer using your UT NetID and password. For best results, you should have the most recent versions of following free programs installed on your computer:

Coeus Training Modular Workshops

On-line training modules require access to Online@UT (Blackboard). If you are not already a registered Blackboard user, please send a request to coeushelp@utk.edu with your Name, UT NetID, department, and phone number.

The training modules are divided so that a user can easily go through a whole lesson in one sitting. Most modules are no more than 5-10 minutes of a flash video and all can be printed out in hard-copy PDF format.
